Spread The Word
Share the exhibition with your network, repost on social media, and tell your colleagues. Word of mouth from people already in the industry carries the weight for students just starting out.
Every graduating class relies on our community for support. Professionals around us help open doors to opportunities, offer critique, give experience, or simply showing up to take our work seriously. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from our community including placement hosts, event sponsors, guest lecturers and portfolio reviewers. The time we spend with local professionals helps build confidence, skills, awareness, and knowledge of the industry.
Supporting students also allows you or your business to grow. You can get a first look into those just beginning to enter the industry, form the skills and attitudes you’d like to see future designs hold, explore new ideas from fresh perspectives, and make connections with others in the community.

The simplest and most valuable thing you can do is turn up to student-run events. These events are entirely organised by students, with real experience from event management, campaign design, and graphic design. Here you can meet other professionals, offer feedback, make connections, and see the new faces of student talent. As well as our 2026 Graduation Showcase (REGISTER HERE), we run exhibitions, networking events, panels, and more throughout the year. The best way to hear about these events is to follow along on instagram
Host a placement student Hosting a student for placement involved 140 hours of free work from a student, often in their final year of their degree. These students come with fresh ideas and a ready-to-learn attitude that you can be the first to teach. Every semester, students can either reach out to companies themselves, or tap in to those already known to host students from our University community. Keen to be one of those companies, get in touch with Bettina
At the end of each final Semester, the University hosts a “Professional Portfolio Review” day, inviting various local designers, artists, photographers, animators, and creatives to see graduate work and offer critique. This gives students immediate feedback before applying for jobs, and gives creative professionals and head-start look into those entering the industry. We’re always on the lookout for a range of diverse creatives to join this rotation, giving just one afternoon of their time. If you’re interested, please reach out to Carl
Think you can offer some great industry insight, tips and tricks, or design research to our students? Each semester our university team look for professionals to host a guest lecture on their practice, experience, a major projects, insights from their career, or anything they’d like to share with students. This requires two hours of donated time in our city campus as well as preparation, and is a great way to share your thought leadership and experience. Got an idea you’re keen to share? Reach out to Bettina
Following us on instagram is the easiest way to show support. Follow @uonviscom, our club @uonviscomclub, and other students to keep up to date on events, student growth and work, and keep an eye out for future opportunities.
Exhibitions cost money from our printing, materials, promotion, catering, and more. With help from sponsors, we’re able to put on a truly good show and foster community with larger exhibitions. Although our 2026 sponsors have already been chosen, you can reach out to express your interest for next year here
